The Texas Gulf Coast Council of Diving Clubs (TGCC) is a 501c4 non-profit organization of diving clubs that seeks to promote the safe recreational sport of scuba diving. TGCC member clubs participate in shared activities, learning events, and recreational activities in an effort to promote club participation among new and experienced divers in scuba diving. TGCC is also the sponsor of TrashFest, one of the nation’s oldest aquatic clean-up projects, after which many other activities have been modeled.
Okeanos Explorer From April 10 to May 1, a team of scientists and technicians both at sea and on shore are conducting exploratory investigations on the diversity and distribution of deep-sea habitats and marine life in the Gulf of Mexico. Visitors to the web site can watch and listen to streaming video at depths never seen before in this area!
